Getting set up.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email. We send a sign-in link; there is no password. Your first 3 exports are free.

2. Connect your AI assistant

Riffumi works inside Claude or ChatGPT through a connector (the technical name is MCP). Your account page shows your connection address:

• Claude (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise): add a custom connector named Riffumi and paste the address.
• ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu): turn on developer mode, add a new connector with the address. Custom connectors are not available on ChatGPT Free.

Your AI opens the Riffumi sign-in in your browser. Approve it and you are connected: no keys, nothing to copy. Claude and ChatGPT move these menus between releases, so look for Connectors, Apps or MCP in their settings. The name, the address and a browser sign-in are always the whole setup.

3. Bring your footage

Three ways, and your AI will pick the right one: attach files in the chat and let it upload them, paste a public link (Dropbox and Google Drive share links work), or ask for a drop link and upload from your phone or computer. You can also add files on your account page. Up to 1 GB per file: MP4 or MOV video, PNG, JPG or WebP images, WAV, MP3 or M4A audio, TTF or OTF fonts.

4. Give it a little direction

Describe the video: the format (vertical, square, landscape), the length, the mood and what it should say. Your AI looks at the footage, plans the cut, sets the type and renders a quick preview. Ask for changes until it feels right, then ask for the export. A good first line: Use Riffumi. Read the guide, then help me make a 15 second vertical video from the clips I am about to upload.

Previews and exports

A preview is a fast 960-pixel draft for checking the cut. An export is the finished file at full resolution. On the free account exports are 720p with a small Riffumi badge; on the plan they are clean 1080p. Every render comes back with a share link you can play in the chat or download.

Limits

• Free: 3 exports and 12 previews for life, 30 renders a day. Uploads, projects and renders are cleared after 24 hours.
• Riffumi plan ($4.99 a month): 100 finished videos a month, one export rendering at a time, renders kept 14 days, your library kept while you subscribe.
• Per project: 20 scenes, 40 layers, 10 audio tracks, 40 sound effects, up to 2 minutes of video.

What your AI sees

Riffumi sends your AI the frames, contact sheets and transcripts it asks for, plus the facts you type. That evidence is handled by your AI provider under their terms. Your original files stay in your Riffumi library and are never sent anywhere else. See the privacy policy.
